Kenny Scan—Ken Darby Jr.—is the lifelong DJ, collector, founder and technologist who has kept SimplyRadio moving through every generation of internet audio.
He mixed the sets, built the studios, carried the equipment, maintained the streams and kept the station alive as the technology changed around it.

The radio became
a technical backbone.
Running independent streams in the late 1990s meant learning the entire chain: websites, hosting, encoding, players, networking, distribution, troubleshooting and how to explain new technology to people who had never used it.
That experience carried into a professional life in technology and sales. The day work never replaced the radio; it helped keep the signal alive. SimplyRadio remains the ultimate outlet—the place where the technical and musical lives meet without becoming a corporate product.
Today the operation is intentionally honest: primarily one DJ and curator, supported by decades of recordings and a history that included many more collaborators, artists and rooms.
